October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages and encourage others to do the same. Did you know for every $100 donated, it helps provide a mammogram to a woman in need. It could be your mother, your neighbor or even your child's teacher. Donate today by clicking the link above, it's secure and free to donate!

Every October, schools and organizations across the country join STOMP Out Bullying in observing National Bullying Prevention Month. National Fire Prevention week/month - While the campaign lasts the entire month, most fire departments designate the second week of October as Fire Prevention Week, during which demonstrations and expos are held in different U.S. cities. Sponsored by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Fire Prevention Month has roots that date back to The Great Chicago Fire of 1871 that killed more than 250 people and left more than 100,000 homeless. It's time to make sure your alarms are all working and do a little checking! Learn more here: http://www.nfpa.org/safety-information/fire-prevention-week

And last but not least, October also holds Pitbull awareness month. We won't go into detail because this is a "torn" subject... but get to know a bully! I am happily in love with mine! Learn more about the breed, not the deed. http://www.nationalpitbullawarenessday.org/
